The Upper link is a pedestrian bridge that will connect Moynihan Station to the Shed at the Hudson Yards. Along the way it will impact several buildings and structures creating different junctions each with a unique visual and special experience. To define these junctions, a structural shed is introduced to partially cover the space. In addition to the connection, we wanted to generate dynamic spaces by penetrating existing buildings and structures. Also, adding some functional programs will support the existing infra structure, like the Go bus station At Kaufman’s Hall
Located west of the harbor bridge, this man-made concrete dock stood as an eye sore to the community of Millers point. Our design proposal introduced another man-made structure to soften the transition between the hill and the abandoned docks. Within this structure, a public library and a multistory parking were created. A tunnel connecting Hickson Rd to Towns place runs within the structure. Above the structure is a roof park stepping down to the sea level. Along the sea level, an outdoor amphitheater, art studios and apartment buildings were proposed.
